We the baby boomers, that is those aged about 40 and above make up about one quarter of the world’s population and are growing older rapidly. Considering that most of these baby boomers have already established their careers, have accumulated savings with disposable income, having grown up or fast growing up children and would probably owned their own homes, what do they want next? A secret antidote to stop the aging process would be nice isn’t it?

Business owners are quick to capitalize on this rich and growing market dreaming up multitudes of anti aging products and services to cater to the baby boomers. The fear of growing old and the loss of youth and vitality are so real that these industries are doing businesses in the tune of billions of dollars every year. Products like slimming pills, health care, skincare and look good products are so highly in demand that you see these companies pitching their products in multi million advertising campaigns. Some of these products do work very well but most don’t.

Of all the products and services catering to the baby boomers, skin care anti aging products seems to be spearheading the charge and raking in immense profit. Consumers persuaded by advertisements of skin care companies promising face lift without surgery, wrinkles vanishing creams and a host of other variations are snapping up these products real quick. Men are also not spared from the marketing onslaught and lines of men’s skincare products are now plentiful too.

Do you know what can be the best anti aging weapon against the effects of aging? Nope, it is not the skincare products that you can buy off the shelves. It is looking after your own health and fitness.

Do you remember the good old days when you are able to play robust games, climb trees, cycle long distances and enjoying them? Are you able to do these things with gusto these days? If not, why not? That is because your health and fitness is slowly and surely deteriorating as you age. We are putting on body fat faster because our metabolism is slowing down. From the age of about 25, our body starts to produce less and less growth hormones leading to deterioration of body tissues and the process to replace and repair tissue cells is being comprised more and more as we age. That is why we recover slower from diseases, muscles are getting smaller and weaker, bones are getting brittle and wrinkles start forming. In other words, we are slowly dying.

To counter these aging effects, we have got to keep ourselves fit and healthy. By improving our fitness and health levels, we are able to slow down the aging process. We protect muscle and bone loss by lifting weights. With cardio exercises, we strengthen our hearts and lungs and improve our immunity keeping deadly age related diseases and obesity at bay. We will regain some the energy and vitality of our youthful days making daily chores so much easier to handle. Best of all, exercises reduces stress, improve your posture and adds a healthy glow to your skin. And you know what? It is free.

So isn’t improving your health and fitness is the best antidote to the aging process? I know because I refuse to let age defy me. So with good healthy eating habits a regular dose of exercise, I am able to play competitive soccer with people half my age, enjoy mountain tracking and scuba diving now and then. That to me is a much more fulfilling and enjoyable life than having jars of anti aging pills and skincare creams sitting on my shelf and burning a gaping hole in my pocket.

When it comes to Health and Fitness there is no need to ask if that priority is number one on our wishlist. Whether you feel your overweight, underweight, averaged, perfect etc We all want the perfect Health and Fitness for our body and im sure we all want to feel young when we’re aging. In 1948 the World Health Organization (WHO) defined Health as being “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence disease or infirmity”. Which simply means we all want the best of the best products to select from to maintain that. The Health and Fitness ebooks that i am offering are in categories such as Alternative, Beauty, Diet, Fitness, Medicine, Mental, Health, Nutrition, Remedies, Spiritual, Womens Health etc with over two thousand to choose from. I personally purchase products from this website sometimes, the last health and Fitness ebook i bought was “over 100,000 workouts” and believe me when i say im still in shape and loving it . As stated earlier there are alot of Health and Fitness ebooks to select from and the search box located at the top of the website will be very useful to you if you are searching for a specific product.

There are alot of ebooks to select, from building your muscles to maintaining a healthy pregnancy or even losing weight it all boils down to quality techniques to do that. You want a Health and Fitness ebook that will actually give you resluts, that is inexpensive and/or will give you a refund if you are not satisfied with the product which i highly doubt Remember we all want to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue so a great Health and Fitness ebook would be just right for you. I want to brag a little about the Spiritual ebooks because they are definitely the greatest. The ebook “The Secret behind the Secret” is such a wonderful ebook you should have two copies. Quantum Mind Power System is also a great book. If you are a tatoo lover then “Tatoo Designs” is the ebook for you under the sub category Beauty, its a must have. “Remove, Moles, Warts and Skin Tags” is a must have also because it actually works and the price is at an inexpensive rate.

You can send a feedback if you wish at the bottom of the webpage by filling out the correct fields (optional). Remember to utilize the search box located at the top of the webpage and again it is very user friendly. Im pretty sure you will like what you see so you can search thoroughly for your product because there are over two thousand ebooks to select from. So when it comes to Health and Fitness ebooks in what ever category stated above, this is the website for your product that are/or were searching for so feel free to leave your comments and feedbacks on the webpage located at the bottom. The link Health and Fitness will direct you to the page.

We all strive to be healthy, however unless it is right at the top of your list of priorities you will always give in to temptation, whether that is a slice of mud cake or sleeping in and missing your morning fitness session. So first of all we must make health and fitness a goal that has priority in out lives. How?

First of all let’s define, what exactly is a goal? The word goal is defined as a purpose to which your energies are directed toward a specific outcome. Whew! How about this a goal is an intention you have to create a specific result within a particular time frame. Goals can either short term, or long term and the time frame you set needs to be in direct proportion to the goal set. There is no point setting a goal to lose 20 kilos in a week, as this is near impossible and if it is, it just might kill you.

Setting a goal with intention gives you direction, clarity and a quantified outcome. Think of it as dangling a carrot in front of you – and for this reason goals need to be something you really want or the payoff will not be enough to keep you motivated and on track. You have to want it. One way to do this is to make your end result clear; it must also be reachable and very importantly exciting for you. So if the idea of being healthy doesn’t light you up, what will that gives you the same result?

Could you give yourself the goal of being fit and healthy enough to run your local annual marathon? Or to play soccer on the beach with your kids? What about being able to run to the top of your stairs without puffing, or dance the night away without feeling completely washed out and sore the next day, or fit into your favourite sexy jeans?

Find something that is exciting to you as your goal that represents the more mundane goal you really have in mind. Remember, all goals need to have a payoff, something you want enough to keep you motivated and a way for you to reward yourself at the end.

Let’s get some clarity on each of the facets of good goal setting:

- Your health goal must be clear State your goal clearly. If your goal is to lose weight, in which part of your body do you particularly want to lose weight and how many kilos do you want to lose and by when? Clarity prods you on your path to create a strategy.

- Make your goal reachable Our goals also have to feel and be reachable for us because if we don’t meet up, we run the risk of tripping up and beating ourselves up. And we lose momentum, could end up as couch potatoes and run far from the goal. So, start with the end in mind and work back from there giving yourself smaller steps until you are back to now. You will now have a calendar of events to reach for that makes it seem so much easier to do.

- Be focused Be clearly focused on the goal you want to achieve, know exactly what you want and why you want it and then know what your reward is for hanging in there. Lack of focus or too many choices leads to indecision and poor results.

- Make your goal exciting If the goal doesn’t motivate you to get up, energise you to get into action and get into momentum, then I don’t think it will take you a long way. You’ve got to want it so much you can imagine it happening and how great your going to feel when you achieve it.

Now you know this, go out and set your goal. Write it down. Stick it on your wall, put it on your computer. Be reminded of your goal and most importantly, take action on the strategy to achieve your goal. Most of all spend 5 minutes morning and night imagining your end result in every detail to keep your motivation high.

Below are our top 10 health and fitness tips, in no particular order. From healthy eating habits to exercise programs, these health and fitness tips will help you get smarter about weight loss, wellness and healthy living overall.

1. Drink more water. You hear this all the time and there’s a reason for that – because it’s important! Drinking water curbs your hunger, hydrates your body and nourishes you from the inside out, including your skin. Aim for half your body weight in ounces per day. i. e. if you weigh 150 lbs, you would aim to drink 75 ounces of water per day.

2. For faster fat loss and a stronger heart, try sprint interval training. The basic format of sprint interval training is sprint/walk/sprint/walk, etc. Pick a stretch of road that is flat for 50 yards – sprint the 50 yards, walk back slowly, repeat – do this 10 times. Make sure you’re warmed up before you start sprinting and that you warm down when you’re done. Sprint interval training boosts your metabolism, burns more fat, and takes less time to complete.

3. Stay away from sugar! When you consume sugar, it causes your body to release insulin – and insulin causes your body to store fat. That’s why those fat-free cookies with extra sugar are actually causing you to gain weight. Read the ingredients label and stay away from products heavy in sugar and high fructose corn syrup. “Healthy” breakfast cereals and bars are notorious for being high in these two ingredients.

4. Add more of the following foods to your diet: whole grains, olive oil, eggs, natural peanut butter, fish, poultry, berries, apples, almonds, protein powder and water. These foods will help you burn more fat, stay in shape and better your health.

5. Add weight training to your exercise routine. Adding muscle to your body increases your life span, makes you stronger and burns fat. If you’re looking to tone up, use a weight that you can lift 8-12 times; if you’re looking to add bulk, use a weight you can lift 4-6 times. Weight train 2-3 times per week and keep your weight training sessions to 45 minutes max.

6. At a minimum, add a quality multivitamin to your diet and fish oil softgels (omega-3 fatty acids). Most people don’t get a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals from foods alone so it’s important you compliment your healthy eating habits with a strong multi. The fish oil softgels are important because most people’s diets are severely lacking in omega-3 fatty acids and this is suspected to be a contributing factor to many health diseases, including obesity. Fish oil softgels are the easiest way to add omega-3′s to your diet – consume 2,000 to 3,000 mg of omega-3′s per day.

7. Add more Wild Alaskan salmon to your diet. It’s extremely high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and low in fat – an incredibly healthy combination. And Wild Alaskan salmon is very low in mercury, the one problem with regular salmon.

8. Stay away from foods that contain hydrogenated oils and processed foods altogether. Hydrogenated oils, or trans fats, wreck havoc on your body and some states are even banning them. Read the ingredients of the food you are eating – it will indicate if it contains hydrogenated oils – and if it does, toss it! Processed foods are the chemically-altered, packaged foods like many of the foods targeted towards kids nowadays. Usually you can tell a food is processed if the ingredients show a list of chemicals a mile long.

9. A simple way to keep your weight under control is stop eating before you’re full. Portion control is an easy way to make sure you don’t over eat and gain weight. If you continuously eat until your uncomfortably full, you’ll consume too many calories and stretch your stomach out, causing you to eat more often.

10. Give yoga a try because you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes when your body is limber and flexible, plus it will help reduce your chances of injury. Yoga consists of 15-20 minutes of deep stretching and usually meditation. Your body will feel younger and you’ll have less stress – combine this with cardio, weight training and a healthy diet, and in 12 weeks you’ll be in the best shape of your life.

Procrastination – The Arch Enemy of Success

The majority of us do it at some point in our life… and hey, some of us might do it every day… procrastination has a way of finding its way into many corners of our life.

At home it usually happens around housework… “I’ll take the rubbish out after the footy” or “I’ll wash up in the morning”…

When it comes to exercise, the excuses are endless… “I’ll exercise after work”… then after work, it’s “oh I feel a bit tired… I’ll exercise in the morning”… then after going to bed too late and sleeping through the alarm, you repeat the procrastination game.

Sometimes the excuses are more elaborate… “I need to buy a new pair of sneakers first and if I’m doing that I should probably book an appointment with the podiatrist to check if I’ll need orthotics”.

But if you are serious about your Health and Fitness, then you must overcome procrastination. Below are ten (10) tips to help you get your Health and Fitness regime back on track.

1. Make sure you set yourself realistic goals. If you work a 55hr week, have a 1-2hr daily commute to/from work, plus family responsibilities, it might be a little bit unrealistic to expect yourself to go to the gym for 1hr, 6 days a week. Chances are, you’d be lucky to get there twice and the remaining four days would be guilt-ridden. Often this will make you abandon the idea of exercise completely.

It is important that EVERY exercise experience is positive. A better approach might be to allocate one gym day per week initially, and a 20 minute walk in your lunch break on another day. It is better to start off with smaller, achievable exercise goals and build up slowly until you are getting 150min/week of cardiovascular exercise.

2. Schedule Your Workout times in your diary or on your calendar. Scheduling workouts at a similar time and on set days can develop a routine. This allows others to learn your routine so they can work around it too. Once it’s in your diary, you treat it as you would any other appointment.

It is important to schedule exercise at a time when you’re most likely to do it. Don’t schedule it into times where you are likely to be too tired or hungry. Personally I find that exercising in the morning is best because you reduce the chance of “not being able to fit in exercise” later.

3. Get an exercise buddy. Find someone else of a similar fitness level to train with, and who is expecting you to meet them at a certain time and place, and then you are more likely to commit to training times that you’ve scheduled in your diary.

4. Get a Personal Trainer. A personal trainer is an even more committed version of the exercise buddy. A personal trainer is an appointment in your diary, that in some cases you will have to pay for even if you miss the session… this can be a great incentive to make sure you turn up! The advantage of a personal trainer is that you don’t need to think of the exercises yourself and you are more likely to train harder than if you were doing it on your own.

5. Document Your Progress. This is a great way to stay motivated. If you regularly review your progress and can easily see your improvements, you’ll be motivated to keep going.

6. Reward yourself regularly. Bribes work with kids… why not you? If you make the bribe good enough, you’d be surprised what you might do. Try getting a group of friends together with similar fitness goals and “pool together” for a super prize! Or buy yourself some new clothes whenever you reach a weight loss goal…Whatever works.

7. Bargain with yourself… say you’ll just do 5 minutes. You might not feel like exercising, but tell yourself that you’ll start your program and only do 5 minutes and then if you still don’t feel like doing it you’ll stop. Most times you’ll finish your program.

8. Take the approach that every bit counts. Incidentals count… hide the remote control! Make yourself take the stairs… park the car further away at the shops or at appointments… get off the bus or train one stop earlier… take the kids to the park and chase them around…or try getting up off the couch every ad break and move around (e. g. march on the spot or do pushups etc)

9. Choose exercise activities that fit with your lifestyle. If you are a busy mum with 3 kids under 3, it is unlikely that you can get to the gym 5 days a week. Similarly, if you are a corporate executive working a 60 hr week and commuting it is also unlikely that you’ll head to the gym straight after work at 8pm each day.

So pick exercise activities and times that fit with your lifestyle. A busy mum might be better off combining her exercise time with activities that include the kids. Pushing the pram off-road (i. e. not on pathways or the road) is an excellent workout for new mums. Or just chase the kids around for an hour at the park. It is also important for kids to learn that exercise is a part of daily life. Exercising as a family can have a very positive affect on family dynamics… like one of the sayings goes… the family that plays together – stays together.

10. Pick activities that are fun. There are so many forms of exercise; you should be able to choose something that you find enjoyable. For example, you might love looking at houses, so walk through a neighborhood full of great houses. Or ride a bike along the beachfront. Or swim or dance… Whatever you enjoy – do it!

Contemporary health and fitness incorporates bodybuilding concepts. The internet domain specialization and article directories especially, have segmented bodybuilding, health and fitness in three separate categories that are mutually exclusive. Consequently, we have exclusive niches for health, for bodybuilding programs and for fitness training. We fail to conceptualize how health and fitness matters can accrue within a bodybuilding context. The consequences have been adverse and even fatal.

Introducing Bodybuilding Health

Bodybuilding health is a new concept that finds a very stratified society. We are bodybuilders and they are just fitness trainers. The feeling is mutual the other way round. The concept of marrying health and fitness into bodybuilding training is alien to us and even opposed at some quarters. Let us take a brief walk through the history of bodybuilding so that you may appreciate why bodybuilding health is the hybrid engagement that best fits your life.

Muscle Mass Tradition in Bodybuilding

Eugen Sandow, our honored father of the modern bodybuilding as we know it, started the art at around 1880’s. His sole intent was to reconfigure his physique attractively for public display. To him muscles became the ultimate achievement of bodybuilding training. That is the heritage granted us all through the decades up to the moment Dexter Jackson lifted up the 2008 Mr. Olympia trophy, and even today. Through all these years, bodybuilding was never been meant to improve one’s health and quality of life. It was all an addiction to muscle mass, muscle strength, pump and physique dimensions.

When the first-ever grand bodybuilding competition hit the America continent on January 16, 1904 at the New York’s Madison Sq. Garden, Al Treloar won because he was the most masculine and not because he was healthy or because he was leading a good life.

Joe Weider and his brother Ben came into the game to facilitate a more specialized muscle-based bodybuilding training that had nothing to offer the health and fitness of an individual. Theirs was the muscle mass business. Larry Scott, the muscle legend, Sergio Oliva and Serge Nubret were the stars of the 60’s muscle mass decade.

The Total Sacrifice of Health and Physical Fitness

Every bodybuilder worth his or her salt loves the three decades spanning from 1960 to 1990. These were the decades in which bodybuilding became the most noble of all training regimens ever known to man. It gained prestige and prominence across the globe.

Just ask the IFBB. They will tell you a tale of smudging success and infinite returns. But what do you know? These were the decades in which anabolic steroids came into the scene and ruled bodybuilding training. Anabolic steroids became a staple diet not only in bodybuilding but also in others sports. Nevertheless, it was in bodybuilding that it lived as a legit diet until the governments came to the rescue with policy enactments.

We who are conversant with the bodybuilding lore know that these decades saw the rise of unbelievable mass monsters. Name the greatest among them, the indomitable Arnold Schwarzenegger or the peers along him the likes of Lou Ferrigno, Franco Columbu, Dorian Yates and Lee Haney. Do not forget the building of a man, legendary Ronnie Coleman or Paul DeMayo for that matter. These noble men defied all norms, crafted history, set trends, dominated the globe and touched the zenith of bodybuilding glory. However, while looking like gods from the outside, most of these legends were living on anabolics, the amount that would fell an elephant.

Bodybuilding Health Contextualized

The debate here will not be whether they were right or wrong. It is not even, whether anabolic steroids are good or bad. It is about what medical research has authenticated. Bodybuilding on anabolic steroids is buying a ticket to the grave. It is a total disregard of health. The sad thing is that even if anabolic steroids are banned and regulated today, they are the chief aides in modern bodybuilding even now. A cursed inheritance it is, accrued from ages when health and fitness were separated from bodybuilding training.

Every time an individual pursues a bodybuilding program without the sole intent of developing a supremely healthy and fit physique, he or she falls prey to anabolic steroids soon or later, or at least to the abuse of bodybuilding supplements. At the end, a bodybuilding program becomes the path to cancer, to kidney failure, to hypertension, to heart problems, to dysfunctional sexual organs, to skin complications and to a myriad of health complications.

Conclusion

That is why modern bodybuilding emphasizes the hybrid of bodybuilding training with contemporary health and fitness practices. We have learnt from the mistakes of the past and we are determined not to make them again. Our health depends on it, even as we pump iron. To any natural bodybuilding fan, bodybuilding health is the new dimension that marries bodybuilding programs to health and fitness.

The health and fitness industries are making billions of dollars every year on herbal supplements, fitness equipment, gyms, and special diets.

Statistics show that seat belts add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Thought for the day: Buckle down and buckle up.

Statistics show that seat belts add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Thought for the day: Buckle down and buckle up. Greater muscle strength, however, was associated with stronger bones.

Banana – The banana made my list since almost everyone loves bananas, but most of us think that they are fattening! Well, at about 120 calories for a medium one, loaded with potassium, vitamin C, sweet and starchy, they make the list. Bananas are also versatile.

Walking and swimming. Any body can walk and those of you who know how to swim can swim. For these two activities you do not need much gear and experts say that these two exercises have no side effects and are excellent stress busters.

Diet plays an important role in our day to day life so it is necessary to maintain the proper diet. Diet-friendly sugar substitutes may not be so slimming after all. A new study in lab animals furthers the theory that zero-cal sweeteners throw your body out of whack and plump you up.

The music may sound just perfect, and you may think that you can start doing shimmies and hip drops. That is not the case. Give your muscles the attention they deserve before and after your practice.

fast foods are higher in fat, calories and sugar than home-prepared foods, there are many healthier fast food choices. Try some of the fast foods which have nutritional data for calories, fat percentage, protein and carbohydrates are supplied.

Before we discuss the fat burning tools, let’s accept that there is no overnight way to burn fat. Let’s focus on the tools of fat burning rather than watching for immediate results. Start with small changes and pile them up like college credits!

Environmental stresses, pollution, and negative vibrational energy currents plague us to a degree that is unprecedented in human history. Using the science of yoga and the wisdom of the ancients, it is possible to create a space of harmony in our own homes.

Stress is a key contributor to poor health. Study after study has found that when a person is stressed, the body reacts. The result of stress could be high-blood pressure, tension headaches, upset stomachs, poor posture, and so on. Keeping stress in check will help you manage your overall health much better.

Summer is here, and look at you — you’ve done it! You’re exercising more, you’re eating healthier — congratulations! You’re well on your way to living a healthier, happier, fitter life!

Here is a great technique to keep up that momentum and keep you moving toward your health and fitness goals — it happens to be one of the favorite techniques at SHE (Sports, Health and Exercise). We call it the “One Magic Minute– and before you roll your eyes, read on! The One Magic Minute is not a gimmicky program from a late-night infomercial. It’s really just 60 seconds of an easy mental exercise that will help keep you on track. It’s a technique that will remind you to be clear and decisive, and will keep you accountable to your action plans.

Here’s how it works. Set aside one minute each day — a slim 60 seconds — and schedule it for at least one hour before you have a bit of slack in your schedule. Maybe it’s early in the morning before everyone else is awake or in the evening after work but before dinner. Once you’ve determined that hour, spend one minute ONE HOUR BEFORE that hour to stop and think clearly about your work toward your goals. Hold yourself accountable. Ask yourself, “Did I do what I said I was going to do?”

If you did, spend that moment celebrating. Praise yourself for a job well one. Sing, dance, or laugh at yourself for thinking about singing and dancing. Whatever you do, spend 60 seconds feeling good about your success that day. If you didn’t follow through, then here you are — you’ve stopped, and you’ve acknowledged that — and look! — you still have time to make it right! Use that introspective moment to kick yourself into gear — take a look at your fitness blog or your journal — and figure out a way to earn check marks on your fitness to-do list. And hey — if you just can’t make it happen that day, take that moment to commit yourself to making tomorrow’s plan your number one goal for the day.

You are already on the path to a happier, healthier and more active you — you know that nothing is more important that your health. Keep it up, and use your new strength and energy to make a difference in the lives of your friends and family!

So make it happen every day — spend just One Magic Minute reviewing your progress toward a healthier lifestyle. Acknowledge both your successes and your missteps, and remember that your better health increased energy will be the greatest reward you can give yourself and your loved ones.

And well done — keep it up! You are on your way to living the butt-kicking life you’ve been dreaming of!
